Biodiversity Framework in Scotland

In 2004 the Scottish Government published its long term strategy Scotland’s Biodiversity: It’s in Your Hands, which sets out a 25 year framework for action to conserve and enhance biodiversity in Scotland.

 

It is supplemented by the 2020 Challenge for Scotland's Biodiversity, published in 2013. This document (available as pdf version) includes a Table setting out how CBD Stategic Goals and the Aichi targets relate to the Scottish outcomes and proposed UK 2020 indicators. Together these two documents comprise the current Scottish Biodiversity Strategy in response to the European Union’s Biodiversity Strategy for 2020 and the CBD Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020. The Scottish Government has subsequently published in 2015: Scotland’s Biodiversity a Route Map to 2020.

 

In addition, in 2011, Scottish Government adopted a highly inter-related land use strategy; "Getting the best from our land - a land use strategy for Scotland
